From the time I got my first passport in my mid 30’s, I developed a serious case of wanderlust....a love of traveling and exploring amazing places. My first trip abroad was to Paris and over the past 30 years, I have been to every continent, except Antarctica.
I have traveled with husbands, boyfriends, best friends and led groups of 30 plus people to fun destinations! Traveling to new countries, learning a few words of a language, tasting various foods and drinks, experiencing the culture in each local and coming home with a special piece of art that is a reminder of the country I have visited, have all been experiences I have deeply treasured.
When I travel, I am always curious and amazed at what surprises may be around the next corner, and always staying present to both the differences and similarities I find that we human beings display. And what I have discovered in every country I have visited, whether the people are rich or poor, female or male, young or old, black, white or brown, is that what brings people true joy is being part of a community. I have seen people living in the most desperate of situations that we Americans would find deplorable, however, when they are with their community of friends and loved ones, they are able to sing and dance and smile with unrestrained happiness.
Traveling has made me a better person I think, and given me a sense of gratitude of for the life I have been priviledged to create for myself. I am always excited to explore new countries and find I come back humbled, inspired and moved by the people I have met, things I have seen and experienced, the cultures I have discovered and most importantly, the lessons I have learned. So, I invite you to be part of this wonderful journey I am on to discover a new piece of myself as I get wander and navigate through this incredible world we are fortunate to explore.
