After over a year of rescheduling, waiting, watching, hoping and praying, our intrepid group of explorers braved this new world of international travel and stepped on to the magical soil of Guatemala. For 10 days, these amazing sojourners hiked the cobbled streets of Antigua and explored the reaches of Late Atitlan. They enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the markets at Chichicastenango and the smokey atmosphere of Katok in the highlands. They captured the vibrant colors and storied faces of the Mayan People on their canvases and returned to the United States with bags filled with memories and hearts brimming with new friendships.

This tour was more than just a 10-day painting workshop. This tour marked the vibrant return for a group of 16 people into the nearly forgotten world of international travel. The world is still waking from an unprecedented year of questions and restrictions and many people remain timid regarding the idea of once again exploring. However, Explore Amazing Places, along with our curious and courageous guests, stepped in to this new world and once again discovered unparalleled beauty and experiences that were beyond expectation.

We want to thank Kathie George, and her AMAZING community, for not only holding on when times were tough, but staying the course and braving the unknown as the world once again began to open its doors. Your smiling faces, eager hearts, and flexible attitudes made this relaunch an experience to remember.
