Painting on location- ‘plein air’- and capturing the scene all at once-’alla prima’- has excited artists and collectors since the turn of the century. Jeanne Mackenzie joins a select group of artists that share their love of nature by capturing the moment from life.
Sharing her love of art and giving back to others the knowledge that has been shared with her, students find Jeanne an energetic, compassionate, and supportive instructor mixing solid basic fundamentals with energetic creativity. Her workshops are lively, fun, and most assuredly informative. The constant lesson is learning to ‘see’.
A Colorado resident and a founding member of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters, Jeanne’s artwork has earned Merit Awards and shown at juried shows throughout the United States including the Oil Painters of America Show and Arts for the Parks-Top 100. Her paintings are featured in several fine art galleries in California, Colorado, and Arizona. She was been featured in Southwest Art Magazine’s Best of the West, International Artist Magazine-Master Artists and Delta Sky West Magazine. The Houston Museum of Natural History has chosen one of Jeanne’s pieces for a touring exhibition. She has been invited to instruct at the Denver Art Museum teaching color theory, composition, and painting. Click Here To View Jeanne Mackenzie’s Website
